Philanthropy
Art on Target serves a broad spectrum of the community who have an interest in the visual arts. We aim for excellence in the education we offer and in the continual enhancement of student’s abilities.
Philanthropy towards Art on Target will especially be aimed at the young emerging students that start off by attending our Art Enrichment Programme and then go onto the more complex classes and courses on offer.
Art on Target has been operating since 2010 and in this time we have come into contact with many talented students that simply don’t have the funds to pursue visual arts education. Some of these students have pursued visual art of their own volition as it is not offered in their schools. The demographics of these students are across the cultural diversity of South Africa and specifically from the Port Elizabeth and outlining areas.
Art on Target has ‘sponsored’ some of these students over the years in classes as well as in exhibitions like the Milestone Exhibition (PDF) and their progress is clearly evident in their work and in their character development.
However the number of students that Art on Target can sponsor is very limited and we would like to broaden this number by appealing to you to assist financially.
Our main stream of focus is in visual art education and providing students with the skills set to either apply to tertiary and other institutes and, if not applicable, to be able to operate professionally in the field of the visual arts.
