Amor Roelofse
Amor Roelofse is a passionate painter and qualified graphic designer whose work reveals a deep and ongoing exploration of the human condition. With a strong foundation in various techniques and thematic approaches, her artistic journey has been shaped by participation in group exhibitions and art competitions, allowing her to expand her skills across multiple levels. Her recent work reflects a profound sensitivity to the fragility of the human being, delving into the raw and complex emotions that define our shared vulnerability. Through layered textures and thoughtful compositions, Amor continues to express a compelling need to capture the unspoken tensions and tenderness at the heart of human experience.

Bev de Lange
Bev de Lange brings a richly layered perspective to her art, shaped by a diverse and accomplished background. Having qualified as a general nurse, midwife, and medical and surgical nursing practitioner, her years in the operating theatre have left an enduring imprint on her creative process—infusing her work with a deep awareness of the human body, fragility, and resilience. Bev’s academic pursuits, culminating in a PhD in Philosophy and a BA in Visual Art, further inform her thoughtful, conceptually grounded practice. Her artworks—held in galleries and private collections both locally and abroad—speak to the intersections of science, philosophy, and emotion, resulting in a body of work that is both intellectually rigorous and deeply human.

Carla Slabbert
Carla Slabbert is a lifelong learner whose artistic journey is guided by a deep reverence for nature and an unending curiosity about the world around her. “Our world is too great and nature too vast to ever be truly accomplished in anything,” she says. This sentiment echoes throughout her work. Rooted in realism, her art is a delicate interplay between her two great loves: nature and storytelling. Each small canvas she paints is rich with intricate detail, always featuring something living, something meaningful, or something shiny — inviting viewers to pause, look closer, and discover the narrative within. As both an author and illustrator, Carla brings a storyteller’s heart to her practice.
Estelle Marais
Estelle Marais is an accomplished artist and educator whose work draws deeply from memory, mythology, and a profound connection to the land. With a particular focus on landscapes in recent years, she returns often to the Karoo and Klein Karoo of her childhood—places rich with rhythm, colour, and quiet emotional resonance. Working primarily in oils, but also in watercolours, acrylics, and a range of drawing media, Estelle captures not only the visible essence of a place but also its intangible qualities: reverence, silence, the passage of time, and a sense of timelessness. Her compositions—ranging from portraiture and literary or mythological imaginings to evocative landscapes—reflect a lifelong commitment to both technical skill and imaginative depth. After teaching fine art at numerous secondary and tertiary institutions, Estelle retired to Gqeberha, where she continues to share her passion for painting through teaching at Art on Target. Her work has been widely exhibited both locally and internationally.
Lizma Schoeman
Lizma Schoeman is a self-taught artist whose vibrant oil paintings reflect a lifelong dialogue with colour, light, and the beauty of the everyday. Originally from the Eastern Cape, Lizma’s artistic voice was shaped by the rich hues and textures of the African landscape, which continue to influence her deeply personal and intuitive approach to art. A pivotal moment came during her mid-twenties while living in London, where a period of serious health challenges shifted the course of her life. Upon returning to South Africa, an unexpected spark was ignited during her first oil painting workshop—launching a passionate journey into the world of fine art. Now based in the picturesque town of Somerset East (Kwanojoli), she finds joy and inspiration in travel, observation, and the quiet resonance of inner knowing. Her current focus includes figures, still life, and florals, painted not to convey hidden messages, but to offer an honest and joyful interpretation of her subjects—inviting viewers to pause, connect, and feel.

Michael Wedderburn
Michael Roderick Wedderburn is an artist whose practice is rooted in a decade-long investigation into automatic artmaking—a journey that began in earnest in 2012 with explorations in automatic drawing and action painting. Originally preparing for his master’s study in fine art, Wedderburn’s inquiry soon expanded beyond the two-dimensional plane, evolving into a sculptural paradigm that now defines his multidisciplinary approach. Drawing from methods that channel the unconscious, his work moves fluidly between drawing, painting, and sculpture, resulting in a distinctive visual language grounded in intuitive expression. Central to his practice is wood—a material he has worked with since childhood, having learned carpentry from his grandfather and deepened his engagement through both formal education and personal exploration. The innate character of wood, with its organic textures and resonant presence, has become a vital conduit for Wedderburn’s evolving abstractions, giving form to a practice that remains in constant, authentic transformation.

Sinethemba Xola
Sinethemba Xola is a full-time ceramic artist based in Gqeberha, South Africa, whose work with clay transcends the boundaries of craft to become a deeply spiritual and intuitive form of expression. For Sinethemba, clay is not merely a medium—it is a living, responsive material that allows for a profound dialogue between hand, heart, and earth. His practice is grounded in a sense of reverence, where each piece is shaped not just by technique, but by a quiet listening to the form it wishes to take. Through this elevated engagement with ceramics, Sinethemba creates work that carries both presence and purpose—objects that reflect a journey of connection and transformation.
