The Drawing Room
Saturday Mornings
9am – 12pm
A multiverse morning in drawing including fundamentals in drawing and figure drawing
Fundamentals in drawing is designed for beginners and experienced artists alike. It is a place to rediscover or learn the joy of drawing as more than just a competency underpinning painting and sculpture, but as a creative and powerful independent discipline.
Bring our own drawing materials and some change for tea and coffee.
If you are a beginner, you are welcome to use studio materials to start drawing.
Drawing boards, easels, etc. are provided.
Figure drawing stands at the core of art-making. It is “arguably the most difficult subject an artist commonly encounters,” and one of “the most enduring themes in the visual arts.”
Attendees learn not only how to draw the figure but how to use it as a springboard into all the other disciplines. As such, the sessions are for everybody, from beginners to professional artists. The classes are conducted by the educators of Art on Target on a rotational basis.
